Megan began riding at the young age of 7. She paid for lesson by mucking stalls, grooming and catch riding horses at A rated shows. In 2008, she began teaching over over 30 clients, ranging from beginner to advanced, at the New York Equestrian Center.

In 2010, Megan enrolled in the Equine Industry Program at the University of Louisville. She joined the University of Louisville's Equestrian Team, recognized by the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), and the Riding & Racing Club, a recognized student organization that hosted field trips, events and networking opportunities for students. Megan competed at regional IHSA competitions in the Intermediate Flat and Fences divisions, earning blue ribbons and High Point Rider awards before quickly moving up to the Open Flat and Fences Divisions. Megan also rode on the Western section of the Equestrian Team in the Novice division and later moved through the Advanced division to ride in Open Horsemanship and Reining. In her junior year, Megan became President of the Riding & Racing Club and Captain of the University of Louisville Equestrian Team. She was named as a Spotlight Rider by the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association in January 2014. Megan graduated cum laude from the Equine Industry Program at the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. 

​Outside of the University of Louisville, Megan was lucky enough to ride with Elaine Schott, owner of River Mountain Farms in Versailles, KY. Due to her expert instruction, Megan was accepted into the 2012 United States Hunter Jumper Association Emerging Athletes Program (EAP) regional clinic at the University of Findlay Equestrian Center (Zone 5) where she learned from notable horsemen and riders including Julie Winkel, Anne Thornbury and  Mary Babick. After a week of demonstrating responsibility, knowledge stable management, horsemanship and riding, Megan was selected as one of the Top 16 riders in the U.S. to compete in the Emerging Athletes Program National Finals. At National Finals, Megan and her mount, HH Lloyd Z, learned from U.S. Olympic Medalist, Peter Wylde. Karen Golding, Sally Ike and Kip Rosenthal also contributed their knowledge to the National Finalists. In addition to being tested in the barn and in the saddle, finalists were also tested in the by a Horsemanship Written Test, on which Megan was one of only 2 National Finalists to earn a perfect score. After this, Megan was asked to become a USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Ambassador. In 2013, Megan was again selected for the Emerging Athletes Program where she learned from clinicians Cynthia Hankins and Nanci Snyder. Megan has also worked as a rider and groom for Rick Fancher and Dawn Fogel, and has assisted George Morris at a USHJA Trainer Certification Program clinic.

Megan enjoys volunteering her riding and training abilities at Thoroughbred retraining centers such as the Makers Mark Secretariat Center and most recently, the California Retirement Management Account (CARMA).
